Elnakam is a story of heroism and self-sacrifice. This is the authentic testimony of a freedom fighter, portraying the life of the Jewish community in Jerusalem in the turbulent times which preceded Israel's War of Independence.
Elnakam is the nom de guerre given to Ezra Yakhin in Lehi (Freedom Fighters of Israel). He participates in reconnaissance, in ambushes and in other actions against the British and Arabs. Elnakam is miraculously saved from prison and death many times, is wounded twice and loses an eye in the attack on the Old City.
Originally written in Hebrew, this book has been reprinted nine times and is widely used in different educational institutions as an aid in studying the history of the War of Independence.
